Minor Kidnapped From WB Rescued At Bhubaneswar Railway Station

Bhubaneswar: Police have rescued a minor girl who was allegedly kidnapped by a man from North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal on October 19. The abductor has been arrested by RPF sleuths.

The accused has been identified as Syed Ali (38), from Kakdwip Town in North 24 Parganas district of the neighbouring State.

As per reports, the matter came to light after the family members of the 13-year-old girl lodged an FIR at Harwood Point Police Station regarding her kidnapping on October 19.

On the basis of the complaint, police launched a probe and learnt that the accused had boarded the Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam Train with the girl and they were going to Vijaywada.

Following this, the cops shared the copies of the FIR, ID card, and photographs of the girl through e-mail to the In-Charge of RPF Station Bhubaneswar.

Acting on reliable inputs, the Bhubaneswar RPF immediately gets down to action and initiated a frantic search for the girl inside the train. The cops found the girl in the S-4 coach of the train and detained them.

On being questioned, the accused revealed that they were going to Kerala for their marriage and was unaware that the girl was a minor. He also said that they were in a relationship for the past 6 months.

Later, a team of Harwood Point police reached Bhubaneswar and took the custody of the girl and the accused Syed Ali. Further investigation into the case will be carried out by the neighbouring police.
