Migrant labourers rescued from Kantabanji railway station


Nuapada: As many as 47 migrant labourers have been rescued from Kantabanji railway station, officials said on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team reached the spot and rescued the labourers including 18 males, 11 female migrant labourers and 18 children from the railway station. The labourers were being trafficked to Hyderabad.

A probe has also been initiated into the mater, sources said.

On the other hand, at least 11 migrant labourers were rescued by Koraput police from a bus that was en route to Vishakhapatnam from Raighar. Cops also nabbed the accused middleman from the spot.
