Kolkata: A four-member team of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is expected to seek a report from Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.

The team has arrived in the state Capital to assess the post-poll violence situation. The Home Ministry has asked Dhankhar to give a detailed report on the law and order situation in West Bengal, especially on May 2, when the results for Assembly elections were declared.

The team has visited places in South 24 Parganas district’s Sonarpur and Bhatpara in North 24 Parganas district. The team also spoke to the victims of the alleged acts of violence.

The BJP has claimed that ‘TMC goons’ have ‘killed’ several of their party workers and vandalised party offices at various places in the state. The TMC chief and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has rubbished BJP’s allegations saying violence is taking place in those areas where BJP candidates have won.
