Met issues rainfall alert for north, south Odisha in next 24 hrs
Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre on Monday said some places in north and south Odisha are likely to receive rainfall in the next 24 hours.
In a statement, duty officer of Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, Laxmikant Giri said, rainfall likely to occur at many places of north Odisha and few places of south Odisha. Similar conditions will prevail over the next 24 hours, he added.
Earlier today, the department had also predicted moderate rainfall in 21 districts between 6:30 am to 10:30 am.
According to reports, moderate rainfall is likely to occur at Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Deogarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Angul, Nayagarh, Bolangir,Boudh, Sonepur, Nuapada, Sundergarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.
“Latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that thunderstorm with gusty surface wind and lightning and light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over these districts between 6:30 am to 10:30 am today,” the release by Met office said.
