Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department here has forecast a gradual rise in mercury by two to three degrees Celsius over the next five days across Odisha.
According to the latest report, the day temperature in coastal districts will go up by 3-4 degree Celsius and is most likely to cross 39 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar.
Besides, mercury will soar over 40 degree Celsius at one or two places in the western and southern Odisha districts.
As per reports, the highest temperature was recorded in Malkangiri with 37 degree Celsius. Angul recorded 35.1, Titlagarh 34.0, Bolangir 33.8 and Talcher 33.8. As many as 18 cities recorded temperatures higher than 30 degrees Celsius on March 9. The Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack had recorded 33.1 and 32.0 degrees Celsius respectively.
