Amol Kale, President of the Mumbai Cricket Association, passed away due to a cardiac arrest in New York, following his attendance at the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
Kale was at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium for the T20 World Cup game, accompanied by other MCA officials.
Ravi Shastri, the former Indian and Mumbai cricketer, who is in the US as a commentator for the T20 World Cup, expressed deep grief over the passing away of Kale.
At 47, Kale had been elected as the MCA president after winning against the ex-Indian and Mumbai cricketer Sandip Patil in the October 2022 elections.
Under his leadership, the MCA made several key decisions, including aligning the match fee for all its red-ball players with that of the BCCI for the 2024-25 season.
