Mayurbhanj: Police here on Friday arrested a minor boy for allegedly raping his differently-abled niece at Kuladiha village under Gorumahishani police limits in the district.
Reportedly, the incident took place while the victim’s parents were busy harvesting paddy. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused took the minor girl behind the paddy field and outraged her modesty.
The accused also threatened the girl with dire consequences if she discloses the matter.
However, the matter came to light after the victim’s minor brother witnessed the crime and informed the same to his parents. Later, the family members of the minor girl with the help of a local ward member lodged a complaint at the local police station in this regard.
On the basis of the complaint, police registered a case and launched a probe in this connection.
