Mayurbhanj Admin Gets Ready To Combat Heatwave

Mayurbhanj: The district administration of Mayurbhanj has taken adequate steps to combat heatwave conditions in the district after Baripada became the second hottest place in the State on Wednesday.

Reportedly, Mayurbhanj Collector Vineet Bhardwaj headed a preparatory meeting with concerned officers following which authorities were instructed to take the necessary steps to tackle the situation and to ensure that all tube-wells and piped water supply in the district should be functional for 24 hours.

The prime focus is on the supply of drinking water.

Following this, spare parts and other items needed for repair of the tube-wells and piped water supply systems have been kept in stock.

Meanwhile, Jal Chhatras (Water Kiosks) have been set up at various places while adhering to COVID-19 protocols.

People are advised not to venture out of the house during peak hours, while no construction work is allowed between 11 AM to 3 PM.

Heatstroke rooms have been arranged at all health care centres in the district with air conditioner or air cooler facilities and adequate stock of required medicines.
