Deogarh: The mass cleanliness drive in Deogarh, which is being organised by the district administration on the third Sunday of every month, reached its seventh phase today.
Like earlier, the cleanliness drive was carried out at 70 panchayats of Tileibani, Reamal and Barkote blocks under the leadership of District Collector Sudhanshu Mohan Samal.
Many social & voluntary organisations, club members, Self Help Groups and government officials actively took part in the campaign and cleaned the tourist spots, temples, educational institutions, clubs, ponds, Anganwadis, health centres, roads, playgrounds and market places in their respective areas.
Three nodal officers were deployed in Reamal, Tileibani, and Barkote blocks. Similarly, 70 district officials were deployed in these panchayats to inspect, encourage the people and actively take part in the cleanliness campaign.
On the other hand, all school teachers also took part in the drive and cleaned their respective schools.
Notably, the Deogarh district administration had launched the cleanliness-cum-plantation drive envisioned by district Collector Sudhansu Mohan Samal on August 18, 2019. The drive is being successfully carried out on the third Sunday every month.
