Bhubaneswar: DD News camera person, Achyutanand Sahu, who was martyred last year in a Naxal attack, while reporting in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district was posthumously awarded the Ramnath Goenka Award for excellence in journalism.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also congratulated Sahu on his Twitter. He wrote:

Sahu, a native of Bolangir, was in Dantewada along with colleague reporter Dhiraj Kumar and lighting assistant Mormukut Sharma to cover the Chhattisgarh elections. The team was ambushed while passing the forest of Aranpur.
Sahu and two security men had died on the spot following the attack.
