Maoists torch JCB engaged in road construction in Odisha


Malkangiri: A group of Maoists stormed a road construction site along the Odisha-Andhra border near Patraput area and torched a JCB machine on Thursday night.

According to sources, the rebels armed with weapons entered the construction camp located along Goiguda-Bhejiguda Road under Bandaghati area and set the JCB machine on fire demanding to stop the construction work in the locality.

The CPI (Maoist) group also sloganeered against the construction of the new road. The rebels warned the workers engaged at the site to stop the work.

Notably, Maoists had earlier also opposed the road construction work in Bandaghati area.
