Maoists torch 8 road construction vehicles in Kalahandi


Kalahandi: A group of Maoists torched eight road construction vehicles in Nuamunda village under Madanpur Rampur police limits in Kalahandi district last night.

Opposing the road construction, around 10-15 Maoists gathered at Nuamunda village late last night and set ablaze as many as eight vehicles including five tractors and a JCB parked along the road.

Soon after setting the vehicles on fire and triggering panic among the locals, the Ultras escaped into the forest.

On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and started a probe. Meanwhile, police personnel have launched a search operation in the nearby forest.
