Maoist posters resurface in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Amidst the observation of Peoples Liberation Guerrilla Army (PLGA) week, Maoists posters resurfaced at two different places in Chitrakonda block of Malkangiri district on Friday.

Reportedly, red-posters and banners signed by the Gumma Area Committee of CPI (Maoist) were found put up in Nakamamudi and Andrapali panchayats of the district.

In the posters, the rebels have accused the state government of looting mineral resources from the ‘Swabhiman Anchala’ of Malkangiri by constructing the Gurupriya bridge.

The same banned outfit had also put up posters in Hanumal village in the Koraput-Malkangiri border yesterday urging the locals to observe the PLGA week.

The security forces have already intensified combing operations in the insurgent-hit districts of the state. Besides, police are also conducting regular patrolling in the vulnerable areas to counter any untoward situation.

It may be mentioned here that the PLGA week is observed by the ultras from December 2 to 8. The banned outfit has been observing the PLGA week in the memory of slain cadres Nalla Adi Reddy, alias Syam, Murali and Naresh, who were killed in an encounter at Koyyuru in Karimnagar in Andhra Pradesh in 2000.
