Maoist posters appeal people to save Niyamgiri hills

Rayagada: Maoists put up posters on the walls of a Shiva temple in Kalyansinghpur of Rayagada district and appealed to the people to save the Niyamgiri hills.

Two posters issued in the name of Bansadhara-Ghumsar-Nagabali division of the outlawed outfit were spotted in the district today.

The posters alleged conspiracy by some middlemen to hand over Niyamgiri hills to Vedanta company and to destroy the tribal movement. The rebels named five persons in the posters who are allegedly behind the conspiracy.

“After receiving kickbacks from the company, they are with some members of Niyamgiri Surakhya Samiti are conspiring and provoking the other members to surrender before the company,” the poster read.

The rebels appealed to the people to expose the conspiracy and take out massive people’s movement against them.
