Man’s body found near Railway level crossing in Jharsuguda
Jharsuguda: The body of a 34-year-old man was found near Lahandabud railway level crossing under H. Kantapali panchayat in Jharsuguda district today.
The deceased was identified as Dileswar Buda of Lamtibahal area in Brajarajnagar.
While some people claimed that the man committed suicide by jumping before a moving train, some others said that he died after being hit by a coal-laden train.
The police have been alerted about the incident. However, the exact reason behind the death was not ascertained immediately.
Meanwhile, locals said that they are repeatedly demanding the construction of an over-bridge in the area, but in vain. “Our demand for an over the bridge has not been fulfilled yet. Sans overbridge, accidents are frequent in this unguarded level crossing,” he alleged.
The police seized the body and sent it for post mortem. Further investigation is underway, they said.
