Mani Shankar Aiyar criticizes govt’s J&K outreach programme

Malappuram: Senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar has hit out at BJP over a planned visit of a delegation of ministers to Jammu and Kashmir.

His criticism has come after Ghulam Nabi Azad lambasted the Centre for such a move. Addressing a gathering here in Kerala, Aiyar said that of the “36 ‘cowards’, only 31 are going to Jammu, while five are going to Kashmir”.

The BJP has undertaken a massive public outreach drive in the newly formed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, where the ruling party has planned to send 36 union ministers. The ministers will be interacting with the local population and creating awareness about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and abrogation of Article 370.
