Hindol: A man arrested on Wednesday on charges of raping a minor girl, who happens to be his niece, has been sent to jail after Dhenkanal POSCO court rejected his bail plea.
The accused man, identified as Hadi alias Gobinda Sahoo, hailing from Bhusuka village under Narasinghpur police limits in Cuttack district, was produced before the court today on charges of raping a seven-year-old girl.
According to reports, Gobinda was on a visit to the house of one of his distant relative, at Charanpur village in Hindol. He took her to a secluded place and outraged her modesty on Wednesday afternoon. However, he was caught red-handed by the family members and other villagers after the minor girl raised and alarm.
While the minor victim was admitted to admitted to the hospital, the villagers thrashed up the accused mercilessly before handing him over to the police.
Reportedly, the minor is undergoing treatment at Angul DHH and her health condition is stable, sources said.
