Cuttack: In yet another case of cyber fraud, a man fell prey to cybercriminals who managed to dupe Rs 50,000 from him through online fraud in Cuttack.
The victim has been identified as Satyam Das of sector-6 from the same area.
According to available information, On May 3 Satyam got a call from an unidentified number. Later, he has to deposit some money to buy some stuff. When he opened his net banking app, he came to know that Rs 50,000 has been deducted from his account. Following this, he tried to contact that unknown number. However, the number was not reachable.
With no options left, Satyam lodged a complaint at the Markatnagar police station in this regard.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant Sections of the IPC and launched a probe in this connection.
