Deogarh: A man was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Panchahala village along the NH-49 under Deogarh police station limits in the district today.
The deceased has been identified as Kanhei Samaria (45) from Dala village under Pallahara police station limits.
Reportedly, the incident took place at around 3 pm when Kanhei was walking along with his brother-in-law. Meanwhile, an unidentified vehicle hit him and fled from the spot leaving him critically injured.
Immediately, he was rushed to Barkote hospital. However, Kanhei succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the body for post-mortem. An investigation has been initiated into the matter, sources in the police said.
