Berhampur: A man, who impersonated himself as a police officer and duped several persons here, was arrested by the police. The arrested has been identified as Arun Kumar, a native of Kumari village in Purusottampur area.
The police said, the accused used to wear a Police Constable dress and extort money from the small traders and makeshift shop owners on State Bank Road and Babajitota area for past few months.
Based on a complaint filed by one makeshift shop owner, the Baidanathpur Police launched an investigation and apprehended the fake Constable.
A case no 6/21 has been registered and the accused was taken into custody.
