Cuttack: A man hacked his brother to death over an alleged affair with his wife. The incident was reported from Samantarapur village under Jaripada Panchayat in Tangi block of Cuttack district.
The accused has been identified as Bishnu Charan Swain and the deceased was identified as Goutam Swain.
As per reports, the incident took place while Goutam Swain had gone to attend nature’s call on Tuesday night when Bishnu attacked him with an axe killing him on the spot.
On receiving information, police reached the spot and detained Bishnu and his wife Gitanjali. During interrogation, Gitanjali has alleged that Bishnu suspected Goutam of having an illicit relationship with her.
Further investigation is underway in this regard, sources said.
