Pipli: Tension erupted at a government hospital in Pipili following death of a patient in the wee hours on Monday due to alleged medical negligence.
The deceased was identified as Gajendra Muduli (40) of Nagpur area under Gop block in Puri district.
Gajendra was critically ill for last few days and was rushed to the hospital last night after his condition deteriorated.
When his family members sought help of a doctor to attend him, a pharmacist came for his treatment as no doctor was available, who declared him dead, following which the kin of the deceased created ruckus at the medical. Police force has been deployed in the hospital premises to avoid any untoward situation.
Gajendra’s wife has lodged complaint with the police alleging medical negiligance.
On being informed, former Pipili MLA Yudhistir Samantray visited the hospital and pacified the family members of the deceased. He also asked for a probe into the matter.
