Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday submitted the status report in Orissa HC on the investigation into woman teacher Mamita Meher murder case in Kalahandi.
As per reports, Mamita’s family members had approached the High Court seeking direction to the police to conduct an impartial investigation and fast-track trial of the case.
The petitioner had claimed that the delay in the completion of the investigation was putting huge mental pressure on the family members of the victim.
Following the allegation, the Court had directed the government advocate to collect all related information about the investigation process into the case and submit the status report at the earliest.
