Bolangir: The members of BJP Mahila Morcha on Wednesday staged a protest outside the office of Bolangir SP demanding expulsion and arrest of Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra over his alleged links with Gobinda Sahu, prime accused in the murder of Mamita Meher, a teacher at Sunshine English Medium School at Mahaling in Kalahandi.
The protest was led by BJP state Mahila Morcha President Smruti Pattnaik. Bolangir MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo, district president Shivaji Mohanty, Anant Das, Laxman Bagh, Gopalji Panigrahi, Pitambar Khamari and Madhav Sai joined the protest.
The members of All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) also participated in the agitation.
Similar protests were also witnessed in Kalahandi district and the State capital, Bhubaneswar.
While opposition BJP is observing a 12-hour bandh in Kalahandi today, members of Congress’ youth wing staged demonstration in front of the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik alleging the involvement of Minister in the incident.
On Tuesday, Gobinda Sahu, accused of kidnapping and murdering Mamita Meher, was arrested by police and forwarded to court today.
