Bhubaneswar: Malkangiri emerged as the hottest place in the state with the maximum temperature recorded at 40.2 degree Celsius on Tuesday.
Angul remained the second hottest place in the state with 39.5 degree Celsius while the temperature in Bolangir and Titlagarh remained at 38.5 and 38 degree Celsius.
Similarly, the maximum temperature in Cuttack was recorded 37 degree Celsius.
Light rain/thunder shower has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Khurda and
Rayagada of South Odisha while dry weather prevailed over the rest districts of Odisha.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre here said the heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over some parts of the state for next few days.
