Malé: At least 10 people including nine Indians were killed while several others sustained injuries after a massive fire broke out at a building in the Maldives capital Male on Thursday.
According to reports, the fire erupted from a ground-floor vehicle repair garage.
Soon after the incident, fire tenders were pressed in service to douse the flames.
At least 10 bodies were recovered from the upper floor of a building that was destroyed in the mishap, the report said.
Meanwhile, the Indian High Commission in Maldives expressed grief over the incident and said they are in close contact with the Maldivian authorities.
