New Delhi: Gatta pulao or khichdi is a famous Rajasthani dish made on special occasions. Gatta Khichdi is a very flavorful and delicious rice dish made with chickpea flour dumplings, rice, and dal. It can be served with plain curd or kadhi. It can be known as Ram Khichdi also.

Ingredients of Gatte ke khichdi

  • 1/2 Cup Besan (gram flour)
  • 1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Garam MasalaSalt
  • according to taste

Ingredients for khichdi

  • Leftover rice1 Chopped onion
  • 1 Bay Leaf1 Star Anise
  • 2 Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt according to taste

How to Make Gatte ke khichdi

  1. In a bowl add besan, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala and salt to taste.
  2. Mix well and form a dough.
  3. When the dough is formed, roll it out and boil them for 20 minutes.
  4. Once done, form small gatte pieces and fry them.
  5. Then in a pan fry throw in your hard spices and fry them with onion on low flame till soft.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
