Cuttack: The eighth accused in the Mahanga double murder case, Bhikari Swain, was arrested on Monday, according to Cuttack rural police.
Earlier, the seventh accused, Umesh Khatua, in the Mahanga double murder case was arrested by the police.
Police sources said most of the investigation was based on the statements of Umesh. The cops could garner more information from his statement and pinned on the accused involved in the double murder.
The political environment has been charged up as both the BJP and the Congress are putting the blame on BJD for such an act.
