Madhu Mohanty gets conditional bail


Cuttack: Owner of Odia daily Odisha Bhaskar, Madhu Mohanty, arrested for his links with Artha Tatwa group has been granted conditional bail today.

Mohanty was arrested in September, 2014 by CBI for allegedly taking Rs 1.94 crore from Artha Tatwa chief Pradeep Sethy for his business and not returning the money. As per CBI sources, Mohanty is said to have occupied Sethy’s flat in Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar forcibly.

Today Orissa High Court granted him conditional bail in lieu of Rs 25 lakh security and two bailers. The Court has asked him to pay Rs 1.96 crores in four installments of which the first installment has to be paid by April 30 and the next after two months. Mohanty has also been asked to deposit his passport and take Court’s permission for travel outside the city.
