Low Pressure Likely Over Southwest BoB Around Nov 9: IMD

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday a low pressure area is likely to form over southwest Bay of Bengal off Sri Lanka coast around November 9.

According to IMD’s latest bulletin, low pressure area is very likely to move northwestwards towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coasts with possible intensification during the subsequent 48 hours.

Heavy rainfall spell likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Kerala during the next three days, said IMD.

The IMD further stated that a fresh western disturbance is very likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from today and adjoining plains from November 5, 2022.

Another cyclonic circulation lies over south Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal in middle tropospheric levels. Under the influence of the above systems, widespread/moderate rainfall with isolated heavy falls and thunderstorm/lightning very likely to continue over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, and Kerala and Mahe during November 4 to 6, it added.
