Low Pressure Becomes Well Marked; IMD Issues Orange, Yellow Warning

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday issued Orange Warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall for several districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

Besides, Yellow Warning of heavy rainfall has also been issued for many parts of the district.

According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, Yesterday’s morning Low Pressure Area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal area of West Bengal intensified into Well Marked Low Pressure Area on Tuesday evening. The system presently lies over the western parts of Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood.

Under the influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj today till the early morning of tomorrow.

Similarly, Yellow Warning of heavy rainfall has been issued for Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
