Looter nabbed in city

Bhubaneswar: Police on Sunday nabbed a looter from the city for his alleged involvement in various burglaries in Bhubaneswar.

The accused has been identified as Dipu Chhatri of Bhubaneswar. Cops also seized 45 gram of gold ornaments, a cash amount of Rs 40,000, a two-wheeler and imitation ornament weighing 100 grams.

Acting on the complaint lodged by one Paresh Kumar Pattnaik of Old station bazar police launched a man-hunt and nabbed the accused person.

As per the complaint lodged on December 2, while Paresh’s family was on a vacation, the accused along with his associate broke into Paresh’s house and looted the place of cash and valuables.

The matter came into light after Paresh returned home along with his family. Following this, he filed a complaint regarding the same.

While Dipu is in police custody, a manhunt to nab his associate is on, sources said.
