New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was adjourned on Wednesday after condoling the death of Odisha MP and Biju Janata Dal member Ladu Kishore Swain who died on Tuesday.
The House was adjourned without transacting any business as a mark of respect for the late leader Swain.
The Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan made an announcement in the House that the Odisha MP had passed away immediately after it met on Wednesday.
Members paid a silent tribute to the departed soul and it was adjourned for the day.
The BJD MP died at age of 71 on Tuesday night. He was admitted to Apollo hospital in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday due to kidney-related ailments.
The BJD leader was elected to Lok Sabha from Aska constituency in 2014.
