Bhanjanagar: Tension sparked in front of Sorada police station in Ganjam district following the mysterious death of a youth.
The youth was identified as Anil Muni, son of Lokanath Muni of Kainthapalli Sahi under Sorada Police limits.
As per available reports, the youth, who was earlier detained by police in connection with a kidnapping case, died after returning home.
Following this, locals including family members of the deceased staged a protest in front of Sorada PS alleging death due to police torture.
Reportedly, the body has been sent for post-mortem and the actual cause behind the death will be ascertained after autopsy.
Sorada Police Station IIC is yet to comment in connection with the incident. Further investigation is underway.
