LJP Appears Set For Split As 5 MPs Join Hands Against Chirag Paswan

New Delhi: Speculations are rife over the Lok Janshakti Party’s leadership turmoil as five out of six MPs in the Lok Sabha have revolted against party chief Chirag Paswan. It is suspected that all five rebel MPs may back the JD(U) in the coming days.

The matter came to the fore after rebel LJP MPs elect Pashupati Paras as Lok Sabha leader replacing Chirag Paswan.

According to reports, the group of MPs has also conveyed their decision to the Lok Sabha Speaker.

The five MPs – Pashupati Kumar Paras (Hajipur MP), Choudhary Mehboob Ali Kaiser (Khagaria) Veena Devi (Vaishali) Prince Raj (Samastipur), and Chandan Singh (Nawada) – told the Speaker that they would like to work under Paras as their parliamentary party leader. Sources said the MPs also made it clear that the LJP would work as part of BJP-led NDA.

All these leaders are said to have been in a rift with Chirag Paswan since last year’s Bihar Assembly elections, where the LJP had registered a poor turnout.

Meanwhile, there has been no official comment from either Chirag Paswan, who has not been keeping well or the rebel group so far.
