Pipili: Odisha Vigilance today arrested a lineman in Pipili Sub-Division of Puri district on charges of demanding and accepting bribes.
According to vigilance officials, the accused identified as Manas Ranjan Sahoo had demanded Rs 7,500 from a complainant to furnish a feasibility report for a new electric connection to the poultry farm of his relative.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on Friday and the accused was caught red-handed by the vigilance officials.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case no. 43/2022 U/S 7PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. An investigation is in progress against the accused. A detailed report follows.
