Larger plot to target Jammu city by LeM terrorists revealed

Srinagar: Terrorists under the direction of  Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM) chief Hidayatullah Malik were planning to attack in Jammu city, police said.

Jammu is the winter capital of the Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said a major terror attack was foiled in Jammu and Kashmir after arrested terrorists revealed a larger plot by LeM chief. Malik was arrested on Saturday.

The LeM is a front organisation of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM). He is one of ten accused in a case pertaining to the detection of the powerful car bomb in Pulwama in May 2020.

The police recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including two pistols and grenades from Malik’s possession.

On Saturday, a CRPF personnel was injured after terrorists attacked a security forces in Chanapora area,  an official said.
