Bhubaneswar: As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is digging deep into the financial transactions of lady blackmailer Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand, startling facts are coming the fore every now and then.

As part of the probe, the ED had today grilled Archana Nag’s driver Chandan and her associate Shradhanjali for more than 10 hours. Though the ED did not reveal anything, information received from reliable sources, reveals that the ED officials have started grilling all the people who have made financial transactions with Archana and her husband. Those who had given money to Archana at various times are being summoned by the investigation agency for questioning, said an ED official.

On Friday, Chandan appeared before ED, after it was found that he had made many transactions to Archana’s bank account. During questioning, it was learned that Archana was paying Rs 12,000 to Chandan on a monthly basis. However, it was found that Chandan had sent thousands of rupees to the bank accounts of Archana and the amount was above his overall pay grade.

According to a senior officer of ED, it is clear from the investigation so far that various people have given lakhs of rupees to Archana’s account at different times. They have either deposited the said money in Archana’s account or given it in cash. Those who have given money to Archana are being summoned for questioning. A well-known businessman of the city was summoned, who had transferred Rs 7 lakh to Archana’s account. Later on Thursday, Gangadhar, brother of Dhenkanal MLA Sudhir Samal, was summoned to the ED office for questioning as he had also transferred Rs 35 lakh to the bank account of Archana’s husband Jagabandhu.

Since film producer Akshay Parija has filed a complaint about being a victim of blackmail by Archana, he has also been questioned for two days. ED officials have clarified that the persons who transacted money with Archana will be issued notices to appear before it in the coming days.
