Kumaraswamy accuses BJP trying to topple coalition govt

Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has released an audio clip accusing the BJP of offering money to topple coalition government.

Kumaraswamy on Friday alleged that the BJP State Chief BS Yeddyurappa has offered Rs 25 lakh and ministerial berth to JD(S) MLA Naganagowda Kandkur to dislodge the ruling Congress-JD(S) coalition government in Karnataka.

According to reports, the audio clip was, purportedly, of a conversation between BJP State Chief BS Yeddyurappa and Kandkur’s son Sharana, in which Yeddyurappa allegedly made the offer.

Kumaraswamy released the clip in a press briefing hours before the presentation of the state budget in the Assembly.

The allegations, has however, been denied by Yeddyurappa who dismissed it as a “fake’ audio clip.

Kumaraswamy said that it was being done at the behest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and  questioned if the move was possible without the concurrence of the prime minister.

He accused the Prime Minister Modi of demolishing country’s democracy and urged the opposition parties to expose the ignominious act in the Parliament.
