Kulbhushan Jadhav row: PIL filed in Delhi HC seeking ICJ intervention to secure release from Pak

New Delhi: A PIL was filed in the Delhi High Court on Tuesday seeking the International Court of Justice (ICJ) intervention in securing the immediate release of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Jadhav has been sentenced to death over spying allegations by a military court in Pakistan. Former naval officer Kulbhushan was convicted last week for spying and fomenting unrest in the province of Balochistan.

Notably, the ex-Indian Navy officer was arrested on March, 2016. India has been claiming that Jadhav was abducted in Iran.

A statement issued by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) described Jadhav as a Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) agent who was arrested during “Counter Intelligence Operation” from Mashkel, Balochistan.
