KSRTC decides to continue agitation even as CM assures fulfillment of most demands

Bengaluru: The Karnataka road transport employees has decided to continue the protest till all their demands were met by the state government.

The Karnataka road transport staff has been staging a sit-in demonstration at Freedom Park since Thursday. Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has urged the agitating KSRTC staff to call off their strike.

Earlier on Sunday evening, Savadi, who is one of the three Karnataka Deputy Chief Ministers, told reporters that the Karnataka government had given its consent to offer health insurance, revision of wages, Rs 30 lakh aid to employees who died of COVID on duty, and inter-corporation transfers.

Savadi said :”The demand to give the KSRTC staff the status of government employees has not been accepted, as the state is not in a position to bear the additional financial burden”.
