Bhubaneswar: Rich tributes were paid to the freedom fighters on the occasion of Kranti Divas here on Sunday at a webinar organised by State Archives in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the webinar, Odisha Minister for Tourism, Odia Literature, Language & Culture, Jyoti Prakash Panigrahi, said that the sacrifice of the freedom fighters will always be remembered and added that their role in the freedom movement can never be undermined.
Noted educationist and historian Prof Dr Pritish Acharya, attending the programme as the chief speaker said, August Kranti was the ultimate struggle of freedom movement and from that day it was the beginning of the fall of the British Empire in India.
He said this Kranti Divas will always remain entrenched in the minds of people for years to come. This will be remembered by Indians generations to come.
The webinar was also attended by additional secretary cum Director, Culture Bijay Kumar Nayak, and superintendent of State Archives Dr Sheikh Suleman.
