Bhubaneswar: Koraput MP Saptagiri Sankar Ulaka on Thursday met Union Human Resources Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank demanding establishment of Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) in Jeypore.
“There has been a consistent demand for opening up of new Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore in Koraput district. Jeypore is the largest city in undivided Koraput district and is one of the prominent places of Odisha,” Ulaka stated in a letter to Nishank.
He said the request for opening up of new Kendriya Vidyalaya at Jeypore has already been submitted by the District Education Officer, Koraput through Deputy Secretary to Government of Odisha, School & Mass Education Department.
The MP sought the HRD Minister’s support and intervention to expedite the process. “Your offices may take all necessary steps for opening up of the KV in during the current academic year,” he added.
Ulaka also held discussion with the HRD Minister about staff crisis at the Central University of Orissa, Koraput. He said that the Union Minister has assured of full support in this regard.
