Koraput clerks continue strike

Koraput: The pen down strike of clerks of government offices in Koraput district protesting against suspending 11 clerks over permission for Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s helicopter landing at Boriguma on February 13, continued with even more vigour after 11 clerical employees were transferred.

The row is now over a week old and on Tuesday, the members of the State Clerks Association were informed that the 11 suspended employees have been reinstated. However, it was also informed that they have been transferred. This again sparked off fresh protests and the clerical employees not only criticised the Collector and district administration but also protested the transfer and demanded the Collector to reinstate the jobs of the supsended clerks at the same tahsil.

Among the suspended employees, clerk Krushna Chandra Pradhan who had put off the file of permission to Minister Pradhan’s helicopter landing has been transferred to Kotpad Tahsil while others have been transferred to various tahsils.
