Koraput: In view of spike in COVID-19 cases, Koraput District administration has imposed shutdown in Borigumma GP for five days with effect from 6.00 PM of July 8. to 6.00 PM of July 13.
The District Collector, Madhusudan Mishra, said: “It is imperative to adopt strict social distancing and isolation measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, which is playing havoc in many countries across the world, including India and in spite of all attempts taken by Koraput District Administration, it is found that some persons those who are in close contact with the COVID Positive Cases of Borigumma are found positive which is really a matter of concern.”
“Borigumma Tahasildar has apprehended that there are possibilities of large number of direct contacts with positive cases and recommended to declare shutdown of Borigumma GP for five days from 6.00 PM on dated 08.07.2020 to 6.00 PM on dated 13.07.2020 and this shutdown condition was discussed in a meeting in presence of S.P., Koraput, ADM, Koraput and PD, DRDA, Koraput with CDM&PHO, Koraput, the district Collector informed.
However, the essential and emergency services such as Medical, Police, Fire, Telecom, Sanitation, Drinking Water, movement of goods vehicle via NH, agriculture activities, LPG distribution, Petrol Pumps shall not be restricted and the exception will include transport of all kinds for movement to & fro hospitals.
Keeping in view the pandemic situation under COVID-19, the following activities shall be undertaken in view of the larger interest and health safety of people.
- All medicine shops to remain open as per practice (human & animals).
- All Govt. offices to function for discharging the emergency duty under COVID-19.
- Milk Parlors to remain open to cater to the health needs.
- Officials / persons / media can move with bonafide officials / emergency purpose.
