Kolkata hospital violence: Sudarsan Pattnaik urges to “Stop Violence Against Doctors”


Puri: In wake of the brutal attack on a junior doctor in West Bengal, internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sculpture today urging everyone to “Stop Violence Against Doctors”.

Taking to Twitter, the artist, posted a picture of his mural that portrayed the symbol of medicine which is actually the “Caduceus” and to “Stop Violence Against Doctors” with “Save Doctors Save Humanity” inscribed on it.



Notably, junior doctors in West Bengal are on strike since June 11 after two of their colleagues were seriously injured in an attack by the relatives of a patient who died at the NRS Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.

Besides, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) in on a 24 hours strike today withdrawing all non-essential health services including outdoor patient department (OPD) services, in hospitals across the country.
