Koffee With Karan controversy: Hardik, KL Rahul issued notices for deposition

New Delhi: The Supreme Court-appointed BCCI Ombudsman Justice (Retd) DK Jain has issued notices to India players Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul to appear for their sexist comments on a TV chat show Koffee With Karan.

Even though both the players offered an unconditional apology, they were suspended by Committee of Administrators. The suspension, however, was lifted as the CoA decided to wait for the appointment of an ombudsman.

The Ombudsman, who is also the BCCI’s ad-hoc Ethics Officer, made it clear that for the matter to reach its logical conclusion, the duo needs to depose.

It is understood that both players have to appear in person and not through their legal representatives.
