Nimapada: A minor girl, who was kidnapped late last night in Puri district, has been rescued by the police today morning within six hours of her abduction.
As per reports, the minor girl, who hails from Chanaghara area in Pipili block, was abducted went missing late on Saturday night. The family members carried out a frantic search in the neighbourhood and checked with the relatives but in vain.
They immediately lodged a mission complaint at Balanga police station and the police swung into action to trace the mission minor.
A team headed by Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) conducted a search operation and raided several places. The overnight operation was successful when the minor girl was rescued from a house in Delanga area in the wee hours at around 3.am.
Sources in the police said that some unidentified miscreants had abducted the minor and were planning of trafficking her to Kolkata city in West Bengal. However, they were tight-lipped about any arrests made in the case.
