Khordha: Khordha Model Police on Friday apprehended six persons including three women after seizing brown sugar worth Rs 5 lakhs, gold & silver ornaments worth lakhs and Rs 13.68 lakh in cash from them.
Acting on reliable inputs, a police team raided a house at Thengahata in Khordha and nabbed six persons identified as Kani Behera (38), Swarnalata Behera (40), Damayanti Nayak (40), all of Samantarapur, Thengahata, Kulamani Behera (30), & Nilamani Behera (28), both of Gudum, and, Birendra Sahoo Nandu (27), of Bhaliabadi.
Upon search, 50 grams of brown sugar estimated to be worth Rs 5 Lakhs, gold ornaments weighing 511.670 grams and silver jewellery 830 grams and Rs 13.68 lakhs in cash from them.
