Khasua murder : Two convicts shifted from Balasore jail


Balasore: Two hardcore criminals accused in the gruesome murder case of infamous criminal Santosh Das alias Khasua have been shifted from Balasore jail.

One of the accused Kunu Panda has been sent to Bhadrak jail whereas the other one Animesh Ghosh has been lodged to Baripada jail. Both of them were serving conviction at Balasore jail after being convicted of murdering Khasua.

Although the exact reasons for their transfer but it is believed to be based on security concerns.

Notably, Kunu brother of the main accused Papa Panda was arrested on June 29. Khasua was allegedly murdered by rival gang members while he was scheduling a compromise on a dispute between two gangs on June 22 earlier this year. The incident took in a gruesome manner with rival gang members first hacking him in swords and later smashing him by stones.

Khasua was an notorious criminal who had involvement in more than 100 cases and also a book in National Security Act.
